September 2025 — When NASCAR 25 launches this October, the roar of stock cars won’t be the only thing fueling the adrenaline. Thanks to NASCAR Hall of Famer Dale Earnhardt Jr., the game’s official soundtrack is shaping up to be one of the most diverse and energetic in racing game history.
A Fan-Driven Project
Earlier this year, Earnhardt took to X (formerly Twitter) to ask fans what songs they wanted to hear in NASCAR 25. Since then, he’s been slowly teasing puzzle pieces of the playlist through social posts, fan Q&As, and even his Dale Jr. Download podcast.
On July 30, he gave fans a big update during an impromptu Q&A, confirming that classic rock anthem “Flirtin’ With Disaster” by Molly Hatchet and music from Breaking Benjamin would make the cut.
A week later, during the Ask Jr. segment on his podcast, Earnhardt revealed the bombshell: System of a Down’s “Hypnotize” would serve as the game’s featured track.
Balancing Legends and New Voices
The final playlist mixes rock legends, modern hitmakers, and independent artists:
- Classic staples like Molly Hatchet and Eddie Rabbitt bring southern grit and nostalgia.
- Heavyweights like System of a Down, Killer Mike, and Breaking Benjamin add edge and energy.
- Modern stars including Royal Blood, Parker McCollum, and Jelly Roll connect with today’s audiences.
- Indie artists — hand-selected by Earnhardt himself — inject fresh soundscapes to give the game a unique identity.
Earnhardt has emphasized how much effort went into combing through independent catalogs, making sure the game feels authentic both to NASCAR culture and gaming fans.

Why It Matters
Soundtracks in sports and racing games often become just as iconic as the gameplay itself. Think Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater or NASCAR Thunder 2003 — the right music can define an era. With Dale Jr. at the helm, NASCAR 25’s playlist has the potential to be remembered in the same breath.
By bridging classic southern rock, nu-metal, rap, country, and fresh indie voices, this soundtrack mirrors the diversity of NASCAR’s fan base and delivers a playlist built for speed.
