NASCAR 26 Gameplay Trailer and Pre-Orders Open July 29

NASCAR 26 pre-order details are coming July 29. iRacing Studios confirmed that the first official gameplay trailer drops the same day pre-orders open for the game’s September release. A dev diary published this week gave fans their clearest look yet at what the studio has been building, and the feature list is worth paying attention to.

The standard edition releases September 18, 2026, on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. The Gold Edition unlocks three days of early access, moving your start date to September 15. Full Gold Edition pricing has not been announced yet. That is all part of the NASCAR 26 pre-order reveal on July 29 alongside the gameplay trailer.

For PC players, there is a meaningful difference from last year: NASCAR 26 is a simultaneous launch across all platforms. NASCAR 25 launched on console about a month before the PC version arrived. That gap will not exist this time.

The dev diary featured Creative Director Mike DeVault, Senior Producer Matt Lewis, and iRacing VP Kevin Bobbitt. Between the three of them, they covered a wave of new features, several of which actually change how the game plays.

Chase Mode is new. Instead of running all 36 races in a season, you can jump straight into the 10-race NASCAR playoff format. You select your 16 drivers, compete through the playoff rounds, and find out who wins the championship. It reflects the real-world format for 2026 and gives players a genuine alternative to the full career commitment of a long season. For fans who want the high-pressure moments without the grind, it is a solid addition.

Dynamic track surface is the feature drawing the most attention. As cars run laps, rubber builds up on the primary racing line, gradually increasing grip in that zone. Early in a race weekend, the track is green and slick. By late in a race, the primary line is loaded with rubber and significantly faster. If your setup can work a lane or two off the groove, you can find grip where other drivers are not looking. It is a mechanic that has been in dedicated sim racing titles for years, and it is now in a mainstream NASCAR game.

AI DNFs are confirmed for the first time in the series. Computer-controlled cars can now retire from races because of mechanical failures or crash damage. It sounds like a small change, but it makes a real difference in race-day feel. Full-field AI finishes have always broken immersion in NASCAR games. Watching a car get collected in a big wreck and actually go to the garage afterward changes that.

Post-race burnouts are in. They were among the most-requested additions after NASCAR 25 shipped, and iRacing Studios delivered. Win a race, do a burnout.

Cross-platform multiplayer brings PC and console players into the same online sessions. That is a meaningful change for the online community and removes the platform barrier that split competitive play in previous titles.

Road course AI behavior is getting attention too. The track extension penalties in NASCAR 25 frustrated a lot of players, and NASCAR 26 adjusts both the tolerance and the AI penalty enforcement for more consistent calls.

Naval Base Coronado is confirmed as a new venue. Full layout details have not been shared yet, but it is a genuine addition to the track list and something to watch when July 29 brings the full reveal.

Kyle Larson is the cover athlete. The reigning NASCAR Cup Series champion is the right face for the franchise at this point in the sport.

If you are deciding between editions, the NASCAR 26 pre-order page goes live July 29 alongside full Gold Edition pricing and the first gameplay trailer. September 18 is the release date. The countdown starts now.
